The divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ
Christianity believes in the simultaneous divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Not only did He experience emotions, pain and death during His human experience, Jesus was also part of The Holy Trinity which accounts for his ability to perform miracles and the like.
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us” – John 1:14

Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ
After Jesus was arrested, tried and sentenced to death on the cross by Pontius Pilate, the Gospels say that He rose for 40 days before ascending into heaven. This belief is crucial to Christian adherents as it is key evidence into the belief of Jesus’ humanity and divinity as well as hope of a life after death.

The Nature of God and the Trinity
Christianity is a monotheistic religion. Christian adherents believe that God created the universe and all things within it. God is not confirmed to a world, has no gender and cannot be rightly represented in images or defined in words. God is often described as a ‘saviour’, ‘shepherd’ or ‘friend’. In Christian beliefs God is three ‘entities’, the transcendent God, the immanent Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit which unites the two. This trinity serves three functions, Creating; bringing life, Sanctifying; making holy and redeeming; turning creation from sin to God. This Trinity is the “mystery of faith” so beyond our understanding.

Revelation
Chirstianity, Judaism and Islam are “revealed” religions. Revelation is the transmission of knowledge from the divine to human. This means that God is involved in all aspects of human life, therefore, Gods presence is revealed in experiences in human history. God’s greatest revelation was Jesus’ words and actions.

Salvation
This is the belief that people require deliverance by God. Salvation is the “here now” but not “fully complete.” People attain salvation by the grace of God and Jesus is the central proof for salvation. “To experience God’s love is the essence of salvation.”
